In the world of technological advancements, and increasing scientific methods, cannabis concentrates are yet another big thing around the corner in stoner circles. Cannabis concentrates such as Hash, wax, Butter, Shatter, kief, tincture, etc. are all extracted from the cannabis plant. Concentrated with CBD and THC, the cannabis concentrates also contain a huge amount of various other synthetic or organic components active by nature, such as terpenes and cannabinoids.
As mentioned earlier, with increasing advancements, it has become a lot easier to create the concentrates, which are quite good for the consumers. They are hygienically packed with several cannabinoids. Moreover, the synthetic cannabis concentrates have a high potency up to 90% THC as compare to the original dried out plants that contain only 15-20% THC.
The concentrates are not only useful for getting a buzz and high time, but they can also be used for medical purposes.
Let’s move towards the exploration of various kinds of cannabis concentrates.
Cannabis concentrates are synthetic products that are produced by extracting the cannabinoids and terpenes from the plants. The process includes separating the resins from the plants to extract maximum concentrates and leaving behind the unnecessary plant residual.
Most of the terpenes and cannabinoids are synthesized on cannabis resin that contains trichomes (the tiny growths on the plants). The potency of the synthetic product highly depends on the number of trichomes present on the plant. I.e., the higher the number of trichomes, the higher will be the potency.
Cannabis concentrated is found in various forms such as tinctures, hash, wax, kief, butter, oil, etc. you can consume them even if they are in their purest forms by making use of specific equipment i.e., vaporizers and dab rigs. Due to the purity of concentrates, you get instant high, which lasts for about 2-3 hours.
Hashish is the origination of Northern India, which spread to the other parts of the world from the Arabian peninsula to Europe.
Cannabis concentrate Hashish is produced by separating plant material from trichomes. The resulting resin is then converted into a mass which we call as Hashish.
Produced as a result of the separation of trichomes from the plant body using ice-cold water.
Produces as a result of rubbing dried out flower petals with a piece of cloth and then pressing it into slabs
Produced as a result of the extraction of resins from the flowers by making use of water or tea and then transforming it into chunks
Produced as a result of rolling flowers with hands.
It is also produced as a result of rolling flowers with hands.
Produced as a result of dry-sifting flowers of the cannabis plant.
You can use hash in various ways, i.e., smoking with pipe or bong, consuming it in edibles, inhaling the smoke produced as a result of giving heat to hash.
Kief is a high potency concentrate containing the purest form of trichomes. Still, kief itself is rarely pure as it is produced as a result of grinding the plant and takes the form of powdery material collected at the bottom of the grinder, due to which it contains residual parts of the plant as well.
Kief can be used in multiple ways.
Moon rocks are one of the coolest ways in which you can use kief. To make moon rocks, all you need to do is take a piece of your cannabis and dip it in cannabis oil. Now roll it out into your kief. An important point to keep in mind is that you don’t have to grind your moon rocks.
Weed wax is a solid form concentrate on cannabis. It is produced by the extraction of resins from marijuana flowers by applying heat and pressure. It usually required an industrial process that involves a high level of heat and pressure, but you can also make it easily at home as well.
All you need is to have a hair straightener, parchment paper, and heat resistant gloves. You have to preheat the hair straightener and place parchment paper on both plates. Now place the flower on one plate and press it by applying pressure. Keep the straightener pressed for at least 10 seconds. Now you will observe a yellowish mass coming out. Voila, your wax weed is ready to use.
You can use the wax weed by mixing it with grounded weed or cannabis oil. The other way to use wax weed is to make a long rolled out snake-like shape and wrap it around the joint.
Shatter, the purest form of concentrates of cannabis in the market. Shatter is obtained through a process known as butane hash oil extraction. THC is extracted from the cannabis flowers by using a solvent. The pint to be noted here is that the extraction for shatter using a solvent is not safe to be done at home. Before the shatter is ready for consumption, the solvent must be completely removed from it.
Shatter appears as a piece of a colored glass having consistency resembling candy but not the taste. There is a high content of THC in Shatter that reaches up to 80%.
Budder is also produced through the process of butane hash oil extraction. Talking about the physical appearance, Budder is something between wax and shatter, but it is closer to the consistency of wax. Budder contains low levels of cannabinoids, but it is rich in terpenes, which makes it the purest of all concentrates.
You can use Budder by putting in pipe or bong.
The tincture is also called the Green dragon. It is produced by infusing cannabis flowers in alcohol. The primary solvent used for tincture extraction is ethyl alcohol. The potency of tincture is as high as 90%. Tinctures are easy to make and consume. You can also use tinctures for medicinal purposes.
You can make tinctures at home by infusing the plant in alcohol in a jar and let it sit for at least 8 weeks.
You can consume tinctures orally with the help of a spoon or dropper.
